Wear of Organization Uniforms; Appearance and Guidelines
The following is "TOTALLY OPTIONAL" for those who wish to do so for Game Coms and RSI Parties, but IS NOT required.
However, if you choose to do so, remember you are not only representing our Organization, but also RSI, and the Star Citizen Community as a whole when wearing one or more portions of this attire. When attending RSI / CIG; Games Coms, Bar Citizens and such the entire attire should be worn as depicted here.
NOTICE: Members should not be wearing the attire in full or part of a Branch or Section of the Organization proper that they do not have a character in.
NOTE: For female members if desired, instead of pants, a skirt of same pants color may be worn. See rules below for same.
AS WELL:
We do not care what your Sexual Orientation or desire may be, if you have a "hang me down" between your legs, then it is pants no dresses or skirts.
I know it may seem a bit sexist towards the more "gender oriented" politically correct crowd; however, we must also deal with "Proper Appearances" to the general public for not only our Organization, but RSI and Star Citizen as well.
Thank you!
I am truly sorry but, I have not met many men who could pull off being a cross dressed female "AND LOOK THE PART WELL", in over 40 years of LARPING and bar hopping.
IF you think you can do it and it is just a MUST DO or DIE issue, contact me directly and we will discuss the situation. I am always willing to listen to all sides of a discussion, but in the end I have to make the final decision so make sure your argument is valid and well supported.

Gymnitai Dress Black Uniform
1) Shirt and Cap: Shirt Must be Black and "Round" Necked, No pocket"s", no Collar, No Front Buttons, No V neck or Polo shirts please. See the Org Catalog for already approved attire and suppliers.
2) Shirt Front Placements:
A) Gymnitai Org emblem must be worn on the left upper Chest usually at or right below Collar Bone Region.
B) Pilot Handle Name to be worn directly above the Gymnitai name and SID on the right side.
C) SID will then be listed under the Gymnitai name and info.
3) Patch Emblems::
All Patches and Name Tags will be of the same type to create a uni-formal appearance on any specific shirt. The following are the sanctioned styles only.
A shirt may have emblems and back patches set as:
A) Iron on style: Where patches are printed onto a transferable paper then ironed onto the material.
B) Monogramed "Stitched": Where the items are sewn directly into the shirt, "not patches sew onto the shirt", as this makes it look unprofessional and bulky.
C) Impregnated: A method used where a high heat plastic is printed upon and then heated and pressed into the fabric of the shirt making it more durable and longer wearing.
D) Flight Status Ranking Pips may be worn on right side of collar if you are a Regular Listed member with Flight Hangar status.
2) Pants / Dress: Plain, Unadorned, Black Dress style. Not cargo pockets nor colored bands, stripes or other emblems, patches or Insignias upon them.
3) Belt: Black
3) Socks: Black
4) Shoes: Solid Black. Either Sneaker style or Dress shoe style only, "Suggest Sneaker style for comfort usually".
5) Cap / Hat: Only the Authorized Black Flat topped Cap with the UEES Gymnitai emblem should be worn.
EXCEPTIONS::
It is highly suggested that both the front left and right side be of the same construction.
Example:
If using an Iron On patch for one side then the other should be iron on as well.
If using Stitch or Embroidery format for one then the other should be the same.
NOTE:
Due to size and possible cost restrictions the back may be of a different construction although this is NOT SUGGESTED, as we wish to keep a uni-formal, while individualistic appearance if at all possible.
So if say the front is Stitched or Embroidered, the back may be, "IF of good high quality construction", Iron on or the newer High heat Plastic Impregnated format.
Also, be aware; that if doing this the iron on will not last as long as the Impregnation Print and these will not last as long as the Embroidery / Stitched formats.
We suggest the shirt being done for long term wear and use in the Stitched or Embroidery format both front and back since for the long term, this WILL save you money from not having to repeatedly get a new shirt after only a few washings each time.

WEAR and APPEARANCE of the BELTED SASH
Wear or wearing of the Sash is Optional.
The Sash may be worn with any of the Approved attire.
Although it should not be worn with the Obumbrate or Manticores attire as the jacket is there for this purpose.
Sash should not extend below the level of the individuals Knee and should sit properly on either the left or right hip region of the individual and not hang off the front nor back areas as this is not intended to look like some sort of mud flap.
The appearance must be uni-formal, neat and tasteful, it is worn simply on the Pants belt between two Belt Loops, however no Loop should be left unhitched "where the Belt passes over the loop instead of through it". SO, if using this method be sure the sash is of proper width for the pants being worn since this can vary depending upon the Pants design and manufacturer.
The sash should at no time be worn with shorts!
If worn, then follow the listed placement requirements for each respectively.
You MUST have the basic listed patches in the set order along the front of the sash.
Star Citizen "Optional if available from RSI Store"
Squadron Patch if holding a Regular Status Squadron Billet
If Kasuals / Lazzerfodder, then no patch is worn.
Then on the front lapel or fold of the sash should be in order top to bottom:
The Backer status, Subscriber status, and Concierge or above status if any.
Those with Original and Veteran backer status may present both patches. Otherwise only one backer status patch is to be worn.
RANK: No matter which Regular Squadron you are in; As this does not apply to Casuals, you may also present your Squadron Rank on the sash as well below the above mentioned items.
Rank should be Dress Metallic not Field darkened and should be evenly placed.
The rank pin is also often used as a means to hold the front and back sections of the sash in place and distanced apart from each other.
The rest of the Sash on both the front and back lapel may hold any other Star Citizen or Organization relevant patches,
Pins or Statuses as desired so long as it is in a well displayed manner.
DRESSES: Must be worn in a neat and proper manner.
The sash may be worn over a waist belt of proper design and color that will match and go with the color of the Dress.
If a common belt is not desired with a dress then females may use a WIDE waist style belt instead, "with-in taste and reason".
The Sash will fit all above mentioned requirements and placement of items upon it, as is listed for those wearing long pants above.

Obumbrate and Manticore Attire:
Of all of the current Gymnitai Cosplay Attire these two by far are the most intricate and as well versatile in nature.
This is due to the fact that unlike the other two that have a preset format, these two sections have a much more free hand at wear, placement and extra attire items than the others.
Just remember to try and keep the basics uni-formal, while working to also present yourself as an individual.
Manticores are the "Hard Freelancing" type Smugglers and Intel-gathering Division that works with the outlands and pirating factions.
While Obumbrate "The Shadows" are the more professional "Biker Freelancing" (KillJoy) types that works with the UEE factions for Security, Bounty Hunting and the like.
CASE IN POINT:: I have MANY rankings which simply are too many to properly present on the front of the jacket. As such, I have arranged them by order and ratings, then evenly lined them up to the left and right side of the back patches so it presents an even easy to read and see presentation for others even if seen at a distance. With out distracting from the main Org logo and patches on the back.
HEAD GEAR::
Any basic form of Cap, Hat or such may be worn, so long as it fits with the jacket style and colors chosen for your Attire. As Head gear would be usually worn as an "intimidation or cosmetic factor", to make you look bad ass or to pick up a "Friend" for the night at the local Bar style... Wink Wink... Feathers Big feathers....
The Usual Black Cap for Gymnitai and LazerFodder attire really should be avoided as it would not meld well with either of these styles.
NOTICE::
NO Berets or actual military looking hats / caps of any sort or color may be worn to avoid any confusion that you are attempting to impersonate military service with any real world countries military units or branches.
Pins, Embroidery work, or other "cosmetic enhancements", may also be placed on your head gear so long as it does not start making you look like a late era Rhinestone Cowboy / Elvis Impersonator.
JACKETS::
Jackets need at a minimum to have the back logos, on the front you need to have the Gymnitai and required patches. Since they are not always available from RSI Store, use and wear of the Star Citizen patch is optional but if worn, should be on the front of the jacket set prominantly so folks know we are "Star Citizen" members. Notice on the picture below how it sits just to the right side, I would have placed it at top but I wanted a section to inset all of my current and future collected pins to keep them off of my hat if possible until that empty spot is filled up.
Then I may move them to the cap and move the Star Citizen patch to fill in that space later on.
PATCH STYLES::
Patches may be mixed and matched between, Embroidery, Ink Impregnated, or Iron On types. Just keep it somewhat clean and professional looking please.
Name, Org SID and other required patches shown in Picture below::
The required patches though at a minimum should be of the same creation type and format, preferably of the more common Sewn or stitched patch designs, to show a more Org / Club mentality to the public as should the back patch and rockers.
And should fall into the following order top to bottom. IF you do not have a specific rank or patch for a specific section then simply move the rest up so there is no blank spots.
Just remember, if you are say not a Subscriber now, but do so later, you would need to remove any from that point down, put in the new subscriber patch into the proper slot placement, then put the rest back on in proper order. "Why the Velcro backing method would work very well for these" which are to be set in a specific order.
All patches should use the same creation and if possible font type.
From the Org Section name down if possible patches should all have a black boarder color, inside color and lettering is up to you for individualization, but should not look gaudy nor garish please. Usually a "Old Bookman" style font is used.
Left Side Required Patches:
TOP TO BOTTOM
1) Gymnitai Org Patch
2) Org Section Name
3) Handle / Name "Should be the short and sweet version we would use in combat unless it is short enough to not take up half your chest to use it on a patch".
4) Subscriber Status if having one:
5) Backer status at a minimum should be "Star Citizen Backer".
6) Other RSI Rankings such as Original or Veteran Backer status May be worn instead but if worn with other backer status patches should be placed top to bottom in order so you have a higher backer status on top and the less status below.
Unlike with the sash if you have multiple backer status levels you may wear them all in appropriate order.
Other patches and designators can be arranged as desired anywhere else on the jacket, try to keep the back as clear as possible unless there is simply no further room on the front and sides as you collect your patches and Pins over time.
In this way folks can see your achievements in the org or events attended and such, as you collect them and travel accordingly.
I suggest if mixing and matching other patches and pins, to have the items placed on a separate set of fabric, the fabric cut to shape and stitched for reinforcement around its edges, then either sewn on or use velcro backing to attach them to the desired locations.
In this way you can remove the iron on decal types before washing the jacket to make they last longer since the ink, embroidery or stitched style patches can handle a wash many times but the Iron on style patches can be totally ruined in a single wash causing you to have to remove any stitched on ones and replace them all over again.
SHIRTS:: Shirts can be an iffy thing at best, so try to make it match for your appearance.
No flashy bright colors unless a Manticore and wanting to go for the Earl Flynn pirate look", basic colors such as Black, Grey, Dark Blue or even White work well for Ombumbrate attire.
I usually wear a Denim jacket and blue jeans attire, so try to match the shirt to the same basic color so I do not look like I am off to a Drag Queen fest nor am a Neon traveling sign.
Shirt types: T-Shirts, Shirt Sleeved collar shirts, Long sleeved shirts.
I usually would go with a Long Sleeved front button shirt as I can then if weather permits simply roll the sleeves up during the heat of the day then roll them back down if the weather changes or if the temp cools down later on.
PANTS:: I suggest for basics, that Denim or Blue Jeans be worn. Although black, grey or even brown pants may be worn, just try to keep it as closely matching to your jacket and shirt as possible please.
Again if going for the Star Trek "Harry Mud" look, then just make sure it is in good taste please.
FOOT GEAR:: Boots, Shoes, or such, again should match the over all effect and appearance.
Again, one would not want to be wearing say neon color shoes, rhinestone encrusted boots or sandals / flip flopps.
YET You will usually at events be on your feet for 12 hours or so, as such wearability and comfort is a priority!
Remember, you are supposed to be the Hard Asses of the "HARD ASSES of the Universe", not some Pimp Daddy Jiggalo on a Stanton Base Hub Street Corner.
BELTS:: Can be anything really as this is usually hidden under the jacket anyway. If not, then again make it match the attire please.
FINAL NOTES:: Just keep in mind you will be representing not only yourself, but your Org section, as well as Gymnitai as a whole. But, most importantly Star Citizen, The Game, and RSI to the general public and masses.
First Impressions matter in these situations!
